on November 15, DTMU School of Public Health and Georgian Medical Students’ Association (GMSA) joined effort to contribute to the worldwide fight against pancreatic cancer, through a thematic session addressed to the tomorrow’s doctors, and a population awareness campaign. The session was attended by about a hundred of medical students from 7 medical schools in Georgia. Among speakers at the event were Dr. Anno Giorgadze, a young oncologist who made an interactive introduction to Pancreatic Cancer symptoms, signs and diagnostic approaches; an oncologist from the Research Center of Clinical Medicine, Tamar Esakia who presented the latest developments in Pancreatic Cancer treatment across the disease stages; a global health specialist, Tea Shengelaia, who introduced the public to prevention and early detection measures; Prof. Ivane Abiatari, an expert in pancreatic cancer biology from the Ilia State University, who’s address covered the years long research in the cancerogenesis, cancer invasion and metastasis and prospects of future research in the given global problem. The last year’s session was closed with an online speech by Prof. Giorgi Pkhakadze, head of School of Public Health
